Hi,
This is to any residents of Pikeland Road. Have you noticed that cars seem to be going faster on this road? Or have they always been that fast? Has anyone tried to contact the State Police for some enforcement help?
Any suggestions would be great.

I don't travel Pikeland Rd very often but I live right off of Union Hill Rd and it's amazing the speed people travel there.
From Route 29 to Whitehorse Rd, there are three stop signs on Union Hill Rd. It's not unusual to see someone blow through all three of them at 20 MPH while cruising at 50 MPH in the 25 MPH zone.
I commute to Wilmington, DE for work and there is a billboard that has been on the side of the road for the past few months that shows the view of a driver while a kid runs out into the road to get a ball. The caption reads, "At 25 MPH, he's hurt. At 35 MPH, he's dead."

I think people have been speeding for a while - I think they should reduce the speed limit. I take my time on this road and smile as people tailgate.

I've seen state police post speed traps on Charlestown Township roads in the past - is there a formal procedure for alerting them to the problem and requesting one be set up?
Honestly, they could sit all day on just about any road in Charlestown though and pull people over all day.
