Budget Basics with the Superintendent
Monday, February 22, 2010
7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
District Office (Board Room), 47 Church Road, Malvern

Great Valley School District Superintendent Alan Lonoconus invites the Great Valley community to engage in a discussion with him about the school district’s budget. This two-hour session will allow community members to engage in a conversation to increase their own understanding of how the budget is developed, what it supports, and some of the challenges that Great Valley – and all public school districts – are facing in developing their 2010-2011 budgets. Dr. Lonoconus will make a short presentation, but the majority of the time will be reserved for dialogue.
Interested in attending? Please let us know by calling (610) 889-2100, ext. 2126, or emailing kcampbell@gvsd.org before February 17.

See the event flier.

Great event.  Kudos to the Superintendent and the Board...never had events like this in recent memory.  I hope people avoid calling the new Superintendent a far-left idealogue, or a far-right idealogue, or any other sort of stereotype.  This is about the budget, so let's focus on that and not grudges or misconceptions about who people are.

I'm excited that Dr. Lonoconus understands we would all like to be involved in the budget process. Everyone in the distict should try to attend. It is our time to be heard! This is what we've all been asking for for so long. This is a great idea! Thanks....GVSD.

The "Budget Basics" forum scheduled for Monday, February 22, has been postponed due to an emergency in the Lonoconus family. The forum will be rescheduled. The new date and time will be advertised when it is available.
