just joined the forum. A wonderful site....is it just me or are the new red lights at Phoenxiville Pike and Rt 401 an accident waiting to happen? Very curious to see when school opens how it goes.  The 2 left turn lanes from P-ville pike onto 401 have odd red lights that you cannot see until you are just a few car lengths from them.  Perhaps its the angle of the road as you approach?
And now the turn lanes are Left turn only on the green arrow, no longer left turn on any green while yielding to oncoming traffic.  Have lost count of the folks who go right thru the red signal above the turn lanes, still assuming they may turn anytime as long as no one coming at them.  And then there are ones who honk at me as i patiently sit there on the red waiting my green arrow.  I am right but they are very very angry.  Unsettling at best.  So stay safe out there!

I thought it was an unusual design for an intersection but I thought it was just me until reading your post!  I think the two left turning lanes were needed, but they might as well not have bothered making the far left one shorter than the other one because people just drive over the yellow lines constantly anyway.

I've noticed the fact that you can't see the light until you're pretty close on this light and others.  I wonder if that's by design?   I would think it would be harder to filter it so you can only see it at a certain distance.  I can't think what the advantage to it might be though.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I didn't know that making a left turn while the main light was green but the left turning light was red was illegal until I got pulled over for it about 15 years ago.  Fortunately I got a warning!

Since then, I've always stopped at them and have gotten honked at for doing so every so often by people behind me.
